Drink Plenty of Water
• Water is essential to all bodily systems.
• Water is good for the skin. It can help
prevent sagging skin because of weight
loss.
• Drink half your body weight in ounces of
water each day. E.g., if you weigh 180,
then drink 90 ounces of water in a day.
• Bring water whereever you go, in a 2-liter
bottle.
• Avoid the sodas as they contain
sweeteners that are high in calories or
affect your blood sugar.
• Mix frozen peeled limes & lemons to add
flavor and get a serving of fruit!
Avoid Holiday Overeating & Junk Food
• Nearly every holiday has become
associated with large meals, candy and
alcoholic beverages in some way.
• At the office: bring healthy snacks to
avoid candy. Focus on socializing at
office parties instead of eating.
• At home: Don't stand in the kitchen
near the food. Eat normally for
breakfast & lunch.
• Don't put off your healthy habits until
after the holiday; start them now and
stick to them!
Tips on Cocktails
• Speaking of alcoholic beverages, an
ounce of 100-proof liquor has 80
calories; whereas 80-proof liquor only
has 65.
• Avoid frozen drinks--they can have as
many calories as a dessert.
• Choose flavor-infused vodka over a
mixed drink to avoid the added sugar
and calories.
• Alternate between non-alcoholic juice
or water and alcoholic beverages to stay
hydrated and save calories.
• Make a wine spritzer by mixing wine
with soda water.

• Drink water or eat soup before your
meal.
• Eat with your non-dominant hand to
give your body time to tell you when it
is full.
• When you feel full, stop and pour salt,
pepper or ketchup onto your food to
make it unappealing to continue.
• Keep a picture of yourself at you most
overweight by the refrigerator as a
reminder.
• Wear tight clothes so you'll be
encouraged to fit in them.

• Peppers - capsaicin can help burn 100
calories a day!
• Green tea - 3 cups can burn 30 calories
