scheduled
for
November
9-‐11,
2011
in
Austin,
Texas
at
the
Omni
Hotel.
Registration
forms
will
be
sent
the
end
of
July.
However,
it
is
time
to
submit
abstracts
for
both
posters
and
oral
presentations.
Read

Call
for
Posters/Abstracts
Throughout
the
year,
countless
activities,
projects,
research
initiatives
and
awareness
campaigns
occur
that
impact
the
lives
of
AYA
cancer
survivors.
Each
year,
the
Young
Adult
Alliance
provides
you
the
opportunity
to
share
what
you’ve
done
(or
are
doing)
to
further
improve
survival
rates,
quality
of
life
and
awareness
for
this
population.
This
year’s
conference
will
include
a
blend
of
presentations
from
outside
experts
and
Alliance
members.
If
you
are
interested
in
highlighting
your
activities,
please
do

Categories
The
Alliance
Annual
Meeting
Planning
Committee
(AMPC)
encourages
you
to
submit
any
abstracts
that
highlight
work
relevant
to
AYA
oncology.
This
year’s
categories
are
broad
in
nature
to
encourage
the
submission
of
abstracts.
If
you
have
an
abstract
that
does
not
fit
into
the
first
three
categories,
please
submit
it
under
the
forth
category
of
Other.
AYA
Psychosocial
Research/Knowledge
Great
strides
are
being
made
to
describe
the
experiences
of
AYAs
and
identify
effective
intervention
strategies.
Have
you
been
involved

a
research

or
an
evaluation
of
a

the

Types
of
Presentations
Oral
Presentations-‐
Oral
presentations
will
be
between
15-‐20
minutes
in
length
and
will
include
the
option
to
do
a
PowerPoint
presentation.
They
will
be
presented
twice
to
encourage
greater
accessibility
for
the
meeting
attendees.
Depending
on
the
number
and
scope
of
applicants,
presenters
may
be
grouped
together
in
a
panel,
followed
by
a
question
and
answer
session.
Poster
Presentations-‐
“Poster
presentations”
do
not
really
have
to
be
“posters”
at
all.
Glossy
charts
and
extreme
graphics
are
not
needed.
A
corkboard
the
size
of
a
large
poster
will
be
provided
for
you
to
display
your
project,
expertise
or
initiative
in
a
format
with
which
you
are
comfortable.
The
only
goal
is
to
stimulate
discussion
with
members
of
the
Alliance.
Organizational
Information,
Brochures,
etc.-‐
Space
will
be
provided
for
organizations
that
have
information
for
display
in
the
form
of
brochures,
pamphlets,
and
other
publications.
