NME - Analysis of Front
 Cover
Here is the front cover to the NME issue that I
am analysing. As you ca see, there is an
image of the main band that this issue will
focus on, which is the Arctic Monkeys. Their
band name is in big, bold text so it is easy to
see and it will catch people’s attention. The
front cover also includes sections on other
bands which everyone is talking about.

I will look to use these as some of the articles
on my front cover. The band on this front
cover features on the double-page spread,
which I will implement onto my double-page
spread.
NME - Analysis of Contents
  Page
This is the contents page for the NME issue
that I am analysing. You can see that it
everything is in columns, and that everything
fits in place. It includes articles about
upcoming bands, reviews on various things
and live shows etc.

Again, it shows another image of the Arctic
Monkeys as their main star of the magazine.
It also clearly indicates where the readers go
to read the interview on the double-page
spread. Also, this issue of NME sticks to one
colour scheme. These are some of the
colours I intend to use on my magazine.
NME - Analysis of Double Page
    Spread
Here is the double-page spread of
the NME issue that I am analysing.
As you can see, there is an interview
with the Arctic Monkeys on the
spread full of text, images and even
pull quotes from the interview in big
bold text. The pages are quite full
and the images have annotations on
them.

I plan to use some of these aspects
in my magazine itself as I think that it
could easily appeal to new readers.
There is also another double-page
spread focusing on the Arctic
Monkeys that shows more text and
images.
NME - Explanation of Aspects I
intend to use/imitate in my
magazine front cover, just like NME, I intend to use one
 Front Cover – On my
specific Indie band that is on the up-rise and focus my other pages
on this band. Also, I will be using pull quotes from the band that
appear in the interview on the double-page spread. I will also use
some of the colours used such as reds and whites.
Contents Page – On my contents page, I will look to put the article titles
into columns so it looks neat and tidy, and easy for the reader to
look at. Again, I will use the same colours on this page as I used on
the cover page. I will also include puffs that will interest the readers
such as how to enter competitions etc. I will also look to completely
fill the contents page so there are no gaps.
Double-page Spread – Just like on the double-page spread in the NME
issue, I will look to us 1-3 images of the band, and plenty of text
which will come from the interview of the band I hope to feature.
There will be pull quotes around the text and images just like on the
   front cover.
Kerrang – Analysis of Front
  Cover
From this front cover, we can see that
there is one main image used as the star
of the magazine. There is big, bold text
identifying the band on the front, helping
the reader to identify the band that this
issue is focusing on. The colour scheme is
also significant as the text and images
stand out. I will be looking to possibly
implement some of these colours onto my
magazine pages.
The star of this magazine will also appear
on the double-page spread.
Kerrang – Analysis of Contents
Page
Kerrang – Analysis of Double-
    Page Spread
From this, we can see that another
image has been used of the band to
cover the two pages, and the rest of the
page is covered in text. It also uses
smaller images and pull quotes from
the interview with the band. The colour
scheme is also slightly different.
Kerrang – Explanation of
Aspects I Intend to Use in My
Magazine I will look to use one big, main image of a
Front Cover – From this,
                                                               .
band of my choice that will be the focus of the other pages I also
intend on using the electric blue colour that features on there to
make my images and text stand out.
Cover Page –

Double-page Spread – Just like with the double-page spread from
NME, I will use another big, main image of the band I use and also
use smaller images to fill the pages, I will also use pull quotes from
   the interview with the band.
