We are pleased to offer you a place as a student for the Doctor of Philosophy (Doctor of Philosophy
(WBS)) (Full-Time) in our January 2015 intake.
Note that this is a minimum two year programme.
This admission is subject to any special conditions laid down by the School and you will be required to
submit your research proposal within six months of your date of enrolment.
Please note that before enrolment can take place, the University requires you to make an upfront
payment of R9340. This is not in addition to the tuition fees; it will be off-set against your fees after
registration. This must be paid at any Standard Bank branch, account number 002891697, branch code
004805, IBS number 131B. Your Wits person number is your reference number. Please note that all
cheques need to be bank guaranteed.
Registration details may be forwarded to you at a later stage or are attached to this letter. Ensure that
you have your identity document with you when you come to register.
Note the following:
• You must re-register each subsequent year before 31 January.
• If you do not re-register by the end of January, a late registration fee may be imposed.
• You are required to submit a report to your supervisor at least once a year.
• This offer is only valid for the 2015 academic year.
• If you are unable to accept the offer and wish to reapply for a subsequent academic session, a
new application will have to be submitted.
