NICE TO MEET YOU
Once upon a silence, there lived a curious boy named Leonardo. He lived in a little house with his
father and mother. He had no brothers or sisters.
Leonardo’s father was a very busy businessman and his mother always had work to do. Leonardo was
full of questions about many things, especially music. Many of his questions went unanswered and
Leonardo was told to “run along and play.”
The fact is, when Leonardo was playing, he only thought up more questions. He had some musical
instruments, but he didn’t know how to play them. They sat in his room, silent.

Looking closer at the front of the orchestra, Leonardo blinked his eyes! He saw himself in the string
section playing the violin. Looking again he saw himself behind the string section, this time playing a
clarinet in the woodwind section. As he looked to the back of the orchestra towards the percussion
section, there he was playing the big bass drum! To the right of the drums were the shiny brass
instruments and who was it he saw tooting away on the trumpet? Leonardo!
A group of singers.
Hearing the powerful sounds coming from the piano, he looked
and he was the pianist, hands flying up and down the
keyboard. When the joined the music, he spotted
himself standing in the middle of the front row singing with all
of his heart.
At the end of the performance, the audience jumped to their
feet and applauded loudly. Much to Leonardo’s surprise and
delight, it turned out that he was the conductor taking bow
after bow.
