2. WHAT IS IT
Three hole flute is the generic name used for a whole family of peak flutes.
They are wind instruments and there are numerous local appeals and variants
such as "whistle", "xipla", "pito", "txistu" or "txirula" in the Basque Country.
The most common variant in the Basque Country is "txistu".
3. HOW TO PLAY IT
Obviously, it is played blowing the peak of the flute.
It’s played with one hand.This hand is dedicated to cover the holes when they are
needed.
The other hand is dedicated to accompaniment with a percussive instrument, for
example:a drum.
4. WHEN IS IT PLAYED
The txistu is played in local parties and events.
Usually, some groups of people playing the txistu and the drum walk all around
the town during the holiday or party.
