  Administration launched the Italian
  Open Data Strategy
   1. dati.gov.it

•   It started as a community-based project to show
    concretes examples in a country without an open
    data strategy

•   The 18/10/11 it all changed - a4i has become one
    of the three components of the Italian Open Data
    strategy

•   Great opportunity and huge challenge

•   Building useful, innovative projects based on italian
    public data (not only open data)

•   Four main categories (growing):
       1. Ideas
       2. Apps
       3. Visualization
       4. Datasets
    It is very similar to Open Data Challenge

•    30K€ in cash prizes from the Minister of
    Innovation
• app. 15K€ in technologies prizes from
    private and public sponsors
• entries don’t have to be new (you can re-
    use your good stuff)
• IP remain to authors
