- First of all, thank you for everything you have brought to the project! We hope you are leaving with fond memories and energy to continue helping communities develop. This presentation will show you some of your achievements, ways to stay involved and connected to GVI, a reflection activity, and then you will fill out the feedback form.
- Make sure this is personalized to each group!
- Again, your contribution of time, energy and money is greatly appreciated! If you loved your GVI experience, want to share it with others and join us on another trip in the future, then here are some options.
- GVI Membership: If you want to continue regularly volunteering, learning, and traveling with GVI, then GVI Membership might be right for you. Here is some general information about GVI Membership. If you would like more details, I’ll be happy to send you a link to the website. In brief, GVI Membership offers you discounts on progtams, a monthly newsletter and special events and sweepstakes throughout the year.
- By participating in this program, you have already given so much to the communities. You have been the difference in the lives of children, teachers, and other community members. You have also seen what additional projects are possible with money from the GVI Charitable Trust. Projects such as the covered patio at El Cocoal, both aulas in Cocal and Damas, and all the materials for Festival de las Artes. A new project idea is creating a grassy sports field for Paquita. There are many ways to contribute monetarily to the projects if you choose. I’ll be happy to send you a link to the website if you are interested in learning more.
- If you loved your GVI experience and want to share your enthusiasm with others, then please consider becoming a GVI Ambassador. To show our gratitude for your continued hard work for our projects, we will reward you with cash incentives and an opportunity to volunteer on a free GVI trip if you wish to return or volunteer at a different GVI site. We’d love to see you again! If you are interested, I can email you the contact information for the Ambassador Program Manager.
- If your journey with GVI has convinced you to pursue a career in community development and volunteer management, then we want to have you on our team! - Realted to Social Media, we believe that there is no better way to share your experience than through visual images. Others become inspired by what they see – The GVI website relies on images collected in the field to show potential volunteers what they can experience on a GVI program. So why not share your photos and videos with the GVI team. You may even win the GVI Photo or GVI Video competition –For more details and competition rules please see the website or keep an eye out for info emails that will be sent after you finish your program
- Now, we are going to create a river of life of your GVI experience. Here is my river as an example. I started with a week full of trainings, then launched into vacation camp, the festival of the arts, becoming the Damas Staff Coordinator and my journey is continuing on this route. Along the way I’ve encounted some obstacles that have made me change directions. Also, I’ve been surrounded by children, music, smiles, some tears, and dancing. Now, it’s your turn. Please take 10 minutes to draw yourt own rivers. Make sure you include memorable moments, challenges, changes or splits of directions, and where you are going from here. Be creative and draw or write what is most meaningful to you. After drawing, your will have an opportunity to briefly share your rivers in this group.
- Thank you for sharing your rivers! Now, it is time to put that good reflection into more formal feedback. Feedback is very important for GVI to continuously improve its programs. Please do take your time filling out the feedback form and feel free to ask me if you have any questions or concerns. (Pass out feedback forms).
