2. Roses are red- RomCom
• WWW:
• I think the imagination and creativity was very good and the
use of freeze frames, props and settings were good. I also
think the opening trailer really set the image of the whole
movie about romance and comedy. Good shot types and good
backing music to reflect upon the genre.
• EBI:
• The use of a tripod would have been better and the camera
could have been utilised better. The camera could have been
focused better when it was aimed at the computer screen.

3. The edge- Action/thriller
• WWW:
• Excellent range of shots and good sound editing. Titles
designed well and good after effect composition. Really well
placed credits during the opening. Excellent use of camera
movements.
• EBI:
• A varied setting could have been used, maybe a voice over
too. The jump cuts edited could have matched the beat. A
dialogue would of made it better.

4. Karma- drama
• WWW:
• Ok camera shots, ok sound and effects editing. Vague
understanding of the plot
• EBI:
• More camera shots could have been used and a varied type of
settings, props and camera movements. The plot could have
been more clear and the editing could have been better. The
music track could also be changed for something more fitting.

5. Deception- film noir
• WWW:
• Good screen editing such as the flickering screen and
monotone effect. Ok sound editing and a varied use of props
and location.
• EBI:
• The sound editing didn’t really fit as it was too loud. Better
costumes could of really set image of film noir genre. When
filming they could of made sure no unwanted things were in
the background.

6. Born from the streets- British gangster
• WWW• Ok editing and good choice of music, a varied selection of
camera movements. Good variation of settings to reflect upon
the genre and title. Good use of props such as the phone and
drink can.
• EBI- Could of edited the voices louder or they could of spoke
louder, the plot wasn't that clear. A voice over may have been
more effective.

7. Made man- American mob/British
gangster
• WWW• Good use of voice over and ok editing. Non linear narrative
works well, varied settings and wide range of actors.
Understandable plot. Good camera shots and movements.
Fitting background music.
• EBI• More editing could have been done, louder and clearer voices
and maybe less cursing.

8. How this analysis will help plan my
opening
• Looking at all these other openings and analysing them will really help me
when making my own because I can take ideas from them, don’t make
their mistakes and improve upon theirs. It will also help me on how and
what to edit, the music choice, camera movements and shots etc. We also
looked at how many marks they got so look at their work and mark, we
can see how we could get more marks just by doing things better.
