        Ordinal Numbers

 What will we learn today?

 • Use ordinal numbers and the
   symbols to tell position
Ordinal Numbers
When objects are placed together, we use
ordinal numbers to tell the position.
We can tell the position of the objects
from the left or right.

       Left Right

From the left: From the right:

       1st - orange 1st - grapes
       2nd - lemon 2nd - watermelon
       3rd - watermelon 3rd - lemon
       4th - grapes 4th - orange
Here’s an example.
Which car is the third from the right?
              3rd 2nd 1st

        A B C D
                                right

Car B is third from the right.
Here’s another example.

Cross out the 5th bottle.

  1st 5th
