This document discusses challenges with complex projects that have distributed teams across locations and cultures with no solid corporate culture or individuals familiar with the entire system. It notes that organizations tend to develop in a linear fashion, starting with an immature rise and gaining maturity with a solid distributed team structure before support falls away as the organization mirrors the lifecycle of the technologies and products it creates.
