1. Harvest 14- Compelling Transformation: Telling Your Transformation Story -Based on John 4
Components of the woman’s transformation story
1) What her life had been like before I was lonely and I was trying to quench my spiritual thirst by going
through one relationship after another
2) How she encountered Jesus Jesus had to come through my town, and he stopped to talk with
me
3) What Jesus did to transform her Jesus knew everything I had ever done, but he still accepted me
and revealed himself to me
4) The results of her transformation I was asking questions and I brought everyone to Jesus
5) Who she now understands Jesus
Jesus is the Messiah, the Savior of the world
to be as a result
How to write my own transformation story, based on the woman’s story
Christy’s Story My Story
1) What your life had been
like before Christ (what did
you long for? how did you
find fulfillment? what was
your spiritual journey like?)
I was insecure and afraid of
being abandoned, so I clung to
my close friends, depending on
them to feed me emotionally
2) How you encountered
Jesus (how did you know you
needed Jesus?)
My XC friends in high school
reached out to me to introduce
Jesus, answer my questions,
and take me to a retreat where
I gave my life to Christ
3) What Jesus did to
transform you (what did your
decision look like?)
Jesus showed me that he is my
Father, brother, and friend, and
his unfailing love is better than
life itself
4) The results of your
transformation (how has your
life changed? what has been
difficult?)
I gave my life to Christ and
trusted him to be the one to
make me secure; I started
telling my friends about Jesus
and praying for their salvation
5) Who you now understand
Jesus to be as a result (what
have you learned?)
Jesus is the King of the world
and the King of my life, and
he’s trustworthy to love me and
take care of my heart
Example of “everyday transformation” – 1) I was working so hard to be perfect and to accomplish a lot so I
would feel valuable. 2) Jesus spoke to me through my mentor. 3) Jesus showed me through scripture that I am
already valuable to him because he made me, saved me, and continues to love me. 4) I stopped overworking
myself and started trusting Jesus to give me value. 5) God created me with value, beauty, and dignity, and
there is nothing I can do to earn it.
I will share this with these friends: ________________________ and __________________________.
