      • Buckner’s policy through the years has been: “Care for more children and do more for the children cared for.”
      • It cost around 70 cents a day per orphan to care for the 630 orphans in 1938. 93 orphans were baptized in 1938.
      • 41 graduated in 1938. 25 attended college .
      • The home has now served 45 million meals in its history.
      • Without a football field or gymnasium, Buckner was District Basketball Champs and District Football Champs in both 1937 and 1938 .
      • In 1938, 10 cents would pay for an orphan meal and $10 would pay for shoes and ordinary clothing for a youth .
      • $100 would furnish a room for 4 youths .
      • In 1938, with the completion of Hardin, Pires, and the Sunbeam Home , Buckner had 19 major buildings .
