Abstract:
Network coding (NC) and multi packet reception with successive
interference cancelation (SIC) have been shown to improve the performance of
multi hop wireless networks (MWNs). However, previous work emphasized
maximization of network throughput without considering quality of service (QoS)
requirements, which may lead to high packet delays in the network. The objective
of this work is minimization of packet delay in a TDMA-based MWN that is
jointly utilizing NC and SIC techniques for a given traffic demand matrix. We
assume conflict free scheduling and allow multipath routing. We formulate a cross-
layer optimization that assigns time slots to links in a way that the average packet
delay is minimized. For large networks, we develop a heuristic approach that
iteratively determines the optimal solution. We present numerical results, which
show that the average packet delay and traffic handling capacity of a network.

Existing System:
The past work on optimization of MWNs, particularly with NC, has mainly
addressed the problem of determining the maximum throughput. However, this
approach has a drawback since it does not deal with QoS requirements of the users.
The problem of delay minimization of MWNs with NC and SIC in an
existing system is as a MINLP. Due to the nonlinearity of the objective function,
the problem is only solvable for small-sized networks by the state-of-art software.
When the throughput is maximized the traffic of a link may approach to its
capacity, which may result in prohibitively high packet delays in some paths in the
network.

Proposed System:
Our system implementation should propose a multipath transmission scheme
to enhance the rate-delay performance in multi hop networks by employing NC at
the source. Spatial TDMA is more efficient under high traffic loads. There has
been work that optimizes the MWN through the minimization of the TDMA frame
length for given traffic demands. However, the minimization of the frame length
does not necessarily lead to the solution with the minimum packet delay except for
under light loading.
System also derives a cross-layer optimization model, involving physical,
MAC, and network layers, to make capacity assignment, scheduling and routing
decisions. The packet arrival process of each flow is according to a Poisson
process; under this assumption, we use the result of average packet delay in a
TDMA system, which allows assignment of multiple slots to a network link in
determining the delay in the network.
Additionally system provides the effect of wireless interference through
incorporating scheduling constraints into the model. In addition, allowing the
