  • The last slide is a picture from World War II of Russians soldiers raising the USSR flag over the Reichstag building in Berlin. One of they key ideas to get from WWI is the Germans got an armistice but did not surrrender and the German homeland was not occupied. So Hitler came along and claimed they could have won but were 'stabbed in the back' by people at home. There are good pictures on line of the Storming of the Winter Palace in St Petersburg( Petrograd) that show the beginning of the Bolshevik revolution. Nice try tho.

    5. 5. Total War Total War is when the entire resources, effort, and population of a country are concentrated on conducting the war so as to bring as much force to bear in as many areas as possible. The Stalemate was the basically the trench warfare. Trenches were dug by both sides in the war. The war made it to where both sides had casualties and deaths everyday, but neither side were gaining any land, so there wasnt anybody really winning. They just hid in their trenches and shot at any sign of life.

This war ended the month long GermanOffensive. The second battle of the Marne was in the Aisne-Marne area. It wasbetween the last German offensive and the first allied offensive, the Allies one this one too. The Battle at Gallipoli was one of the pivotal points ofAustralian military history. The Battle of Somme was a battle in 1816 that was between Britainand France being the offensive, against Germany in the SommeRiver. The Battle of Verdun was fought in Verdun-sur-Meuse, France in1916.
