Introduction
Computer evolved from being use just as a word processor to become
one of the most flexible media to convey audio, graphics, texts, images
and videos into the same place. It provides the opportunity to create
interactive and colorful materials to enhance the learning process. The
topic developed during this presentation are the considerations that
you must take into account in order to create a multimedia project.

3. What do I need to create multimedia?
Multimedia is the integration of multiple elements as
sound, video, text and graphics.
To create a multimedia project it is also necessary to
have certain kind of:
1. hardware or production equipment
2. software

We know as hardware to all the physical equipment
needed to create a multimedia project as: monitor, cpu,
mouse, speakers, etc.
Basic equipment needed to create a multimedia project:
 128 megabytes of random access memory
 2-6 gigabytes of hard disk
 A multi-spin CD-ROM drive
 sound card
 scanner

It is all the programs or tools to create or process a
multimedia project. kinds of computer software:
 Graphics software: this type of software is used to
create or modify bitmaps on your photos, pictures,
images and diagrams.
 Audio Editing software: record, digitalize and edit
sound and music.
 Video software: digitalize and edit video.
 Other useful software: office packages, spreadsheet
and database programs.

6. It is not necessary to buy or pay for all multimedia software programs.
Nowadays some programs can be downloaded from internet free of charge
known also as “freeware” or those who are available for a trial period
(shareware).
Organizing and structuring the elements of a
multimedia project
It is necessary to be well organized and create a folder for each element
involved at the multimedia project, in case you need it more than once.
Take notes of all the changes you made to each images or file to save time
and don`t forget to include the original copy also.

Digitizing Images
Scanners are the most effective way to digitalize
images because it is fast and easy to operate. There
are more than 12 common graphic formats on which
you can save your file.
 JPEG is the most
commonly used format
and don`t require to
much disk space.
 TIFF is a good format
but it take a lot of space.

8. Sound can be used in a multimedia project in three
different ways:
 Music: sets the atmosphere or mood of the project.
 Narration: consists on a direct communication
between the author and audience of the project.
 Sound effects: emphasizes specific points of the
project

elements of websites can affect the quality of our
video.
Video clips can feature:
 Talking heads: people talking directly for the camera
 Live action: live performances.
 Demonstrations: how to use of perform an action.

 Computer`s performance depends on the available
memory space that it has.
