Editor's Notes

  1. My company name, the Dorm Drop and its subsequent logo. A grocery bag parachuting down air drop style. The idea of anything (groceries) being sent to anywhere (your dorm), in this case “from the store to your door”.
  2. Students need groceries. They need things to drink, eat, snack on, keep them awake. They need them in bulk and around to last a few weeks or a month.
  3. Students don’t have the convenience of going to a grocery store. They don’t have the transportation, a car with a trunk, they have a bike. Time, setting aside quality grocery shopping time isn’t as easy as it sounds. Funds, buying single items of gatorade, redbull, or ramen from on campus stores or CVS means you pay more. Buying in bulk saves you money.
  4. The real target customer is freshmen students, which works well because every year they get replaced. Virtually all of freshmen live in dorms, and face the same pain of lack of transportation, time, and convenience.
  5. With an online store there’s complete convenience in terms of time. You don’t have to rush around the store or plan an outing. Open up your web browser and put items in your cart whenever you want. Save some money, when ordering online you get bulk cost. No cash option can be a positive or a negative. Let’s be realistic, delivering straight to your door is difficult. It’s hard to argue that picking up right outside your door on the quad or in your dorm lobby isn’t a great alternative. Enjoy your gatorade and ramen, you deserve it.
  6. Guarantees. To make this company stand out it needs to make promises and keep them. Incentive to buy is that prices are always cheaper than what you’ll find at the grocery store. Convenience means that you’ll know exactly where and when to pick up your groceries, or when they will be delivered.
  7. Full blown up logo and slogan. Brand personality. Reliable, simple, young, convenient, personal, punctual.
