2. Today we can no longer ignore the fact that
our schools and children can become the
targets of
depraved, sick, psychopathic, mentally
unbalanced or just plain angry persons.

10. GUN FREE ZONES
SOFT TARGETS
Within the last five years, there have been at
least 15 prominent, high-casualty producing
active shooter incidents.
Most of these cases have occurred in locations
where the shooter has been undeterred and
unobstructed from carrying out their attack.
11. GUN FREE ZONES
SOFT TARGETS
The incident locations have often been
described as soft targets with limited active
security measures or armed personnel to
provide protection for members of the public.
The history of modern active-shooters in the
U.S. shows us that the shooter(s) will be killed
by the responders, will give up, or will kill
themselves when the first hint of tactical
pressure is placed upon them.
12. GUN FREE ZONES
A gun free zone will NOT protect our children
when someone has decided to commit mass
murder.
13. GUN FREE ZONES
Most all of the mass murders in recent time
were done in GUN FREE ZONES.
14. TIME ON TARGET
Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold killed 13 people
and wounded 21 others in 16 minutes at
Columbine High School.
15. TIME ON TARGET
In just under 15 minutes, James Holmes killed
12 people and left 58 others injured during his
shooting spree at a movie theater in Aurora,
Colorado.
16. TIME ON TARGET
Sueng-Hui Cho killed 33 people, including
himself, and wounded 17 more in less than 11
minutes during the 2007 Virginia Tech
massacre.
17. STOPPING THE ACTIVE SHOOTER
Columbine taught the Law Enforcement Community
that you can’t wait for back up or the SWAT team…
You have to go in NOW…the sooner someone
confronts the shooter the more lives will be saved.
In most all of the recent active shooter incidents, no
other innocent victims were harmed after the
police/armed citizen confronted the active shooter.
In several incidents when confronted, the active
shooter shot themself.
18. STOPPING THE ACTIVE SHOOTER
Armed security on campus will give us the
fastest response time in confronting an active
shooter.
