3. Mode
• The definition of mode is: the number or
range of numbers in a mathematical set that
occurs the most frequently.
• A example is:
13,29,30,12,13,13,28,30,12,12,13
The mode is: 13 because it occurred most
frequently in this set of data.
4. Median
• The definition of median is: the middle value
in a set of numbers arranged in an increasing
order. If there is an even number of values,
then median is the average of the middle two
values.
• An example of median is: 11,19,21,29,49.
• The middle number is 21 so 21 is the median.
5. Least Common Multiple
• The definition of least common multiple is: the least
common multiple of 2 numbers is the smallest number
they both divide evenly into. One good way to find the
LCM of 2 numbers is to multiply both numbers by
1,2,3,4, and 5…. And then find the first multiple that
appears in both lists.
• An example is:10:20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100,110,120
• 24:48,72,96,120
6. Factor trees
• The definition of a factor tree is: a special diagram where
you find the factors of a number, then the factors of those
numbers, etc., until you cant FACTOR anymore, and the
result is all the prime factors of the original number.
