1. This film that I am reviewing is called ‘Grounded’. I Fist watched this film on Channel 5
and it is PG Rated. I think the genre of this film is comedy but there is also quite a lot of
action packed adventures in it as well.
Paul Feig directed this film and some of the cast is: Wilmer Valderrama, Dylan
Christopher, Gina Mantegna, Quinn Shephard, Tyler James Williams Brett Kelly Lewis
Black and Jessica Walter. It was released on December 15th 2006.
The film is about 5 unaccompanied kids that end up getting stranded at an airport on
Christmas Eve and have to find a way around the airport to try & get out before the
manager (Mr. Porter) catches them.
I think that this story is quite important because the children have to be away from their
family on Christmas day & it shows me how much I would actually miss my family if
that happened to me and it makes me think more about if I was in that situation myself
and what I would try and do about it.
In the acting I think that Tyler James Williams was quite good because he was very
dramatic with some of the acting he done because it seems like he’s a good boy at home
so it was kind of hard for him to break the rules and run away from the security guards
with the others, because he knew that he was breaking rules and not following
instructions but if he wanted to get out of there then he knew he had to do it. Quinn
Shephard Wasn’t as good at acting because she was a bit too bossy at times and she was
the one that mostly got them caught for doing stuff.
The film did have a happy & good ending because all the 5 children decorated the airport
with Christmas decorations on Christmas Eve so that when everyone there woke up the
next morning they would see Christmas things & they made Mr. Porter dress up as Santa
Clause and most people there got a present from him so everyone was happy. Afterwards
One Of The boys out o the 5 children offered to let one of the girls spend Christmas with
Him & his family because she was going to be alone for Christmas so she was happy as
well.
The soundtracks at the end was quite effective too because it fitted in with the scene at
the time.
And I think the issue in this film is mostly how kids see adults and about family and how
much you miss you’re family when they aren’t there.
I would give this film 3 or 4 because it shows morals and some discipline & it made me
realise how important family are.
