Since its founding in 1988, the Palos Verdes
Peninsula Land Conservancy has designated and
protected more than 1,500 acres of wilderness as
nature preserves.
3. Palos Verdes Peninsula Land
Conservancy
Consisting of wetlands, grasslands, coastline, and canyons,
the conservancy has worked to restore the area’s natural
wilderness and maintains a number of trails for visitors.
-Portuguese Bend Reserve Vista Point. Located in the
Forrestal Nature Preserve, the 4-mile loop takes visitors to
the popular vista point. With steep areas and no shade, the
trail is one of the most challenging on the peninsula.
-White Point Nature Preserve Trail. A gently sloping trail, it
connects the visitor center to a retired military bunker. With
ocean views, the trail also includes remnants of Cold War
military installations and informative panels from the
conservancy.

-Three Sisters Reserve Trail. A 2.5-mile trail
that takes visitors over several steep climbs,
the Three Sisters Reserve Trail offers ocean
views and a variety of wildflowers throughout
the year.
