2. Romans 4:13 For the promise that he would be the
heir of the world (kosmos – the world’s decorations,
riches and advantages) was not to Abraham or to his seed
through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
14 For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made
void and the promise made of no effect
We are heirs right now! We don’t need to try earn it.
3. Abraham was righteous through faith. He was not perfect.
God did not rebuke Abraham for his mistakes, instead God
rebuked kings for his sake.
Genesis 13:2 ”Abram was very rich in livestock, in
silver, and in gold.”
4. Romans 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be
by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the
seed;
When you have faith in the underserved favor of God,
you are sure to get the promise.
5. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved (sozo-saved,
made well in every area of life) through faith; and that
not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Grace and faith go together, but many have focused so
much on faith they miss grace.
6. Ephesians 2:8 The Message
“Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is
trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from
start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we
did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d
done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save
ourselves. God does both the making and saving.”
7. “Great faith” was only mentioned two times by Jesus.
The Centurion with his servant in Matthew 8
The woman whose daughter was demon possessed in
Matthew 15
They were both Gentiles. They were not under
covenant, so they depended solely on the unmerited
favor of Jesus.
8. Matthew 8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I
am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof:
but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under
me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to
another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do
this, and he doeth it.
10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them
that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so
great faith, no, not in Israel.
9. Matthew 15: 22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan
came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying,
Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my
daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples
came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she
crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the
lost sheep of the house of Israel.
10. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord,
help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take
the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the
crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman,
great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.
11. Be Conscious of the nature of Jesus, not on your faith.
When you focus on your faith, it actually kills faith.
When you look at Jesus’ compassion, His Glory, His
power, His Grace…
Faith will automatically be there.
12. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved (sozo-saved,
made well in every area of life) through faith; and that
not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Focus on Jesus nature to heal, to restore, to prosper
you, to deliver you
--Jesus will credit you with “great faith”
13. Psalm 105:37
“He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and
there was not one feeble person among their tribes.”
