1. Idaho Core Teachers Standards
Principle 1: Knowledge of Subject Matter
I will review the subject before presenting to my class. To ready to answer questions that
students might have. For this standard will have curriculum plans that is organized for subjects
that will be broken down and build up to the main points of the subject.
Principle 2: Knowledge of Human Development and Learning
Teaching in more than one teaching style, so that students have a greater chance of learning the
objective the lesson. The use of Cooperative Learning Strategies to incorporate the multiple
intelligences, and the Data Analysis of Student learning should help me know what works better
for the students.
Principle 3: Adappting Instructions for Individual Needs
Knowing that all students learn different, but need to know the same subject, and find that way I
may sit down with the student’s parents to if they have any idea of how their child learns.
Principle 4: Multiple Instructional Strategies
Teach in different teaching styles, and repeating the same subject/objective but using a different
style to teach. Show the students how to get their assignments done and then send them home
with homework to get extra practice.
Principle 5: Classroom Motivation and Management Skills
Keep the students motivation I would have awards for them. It could be a simple sticker on their
homework, or even a letter sent home to their parents. One system that I have seen used is the
“The Best Cheese.” Where students earn pieces of cheese and the group with most cheese gets a
prize. This could be part of the Classroom Management Philosophy.
Principle 6: Communications Skills
2. Having good communication with student and student’s parents is important to have the student
achieve educational goals. Having parent/teacher conferences, email, or even a phone call to
inform how the student is doing or needs extra help.
Principle 7: Instructional Planning Skills
One skill I hope to inquire is that I make the subject reverent to the student’s community and to
life. Field trips can be part of the instructional planning process. I would be able to show real life
examples.
Principle 8: Assessments of Student Learning
I shall be checking for students advancements throughout the whole school year to check for
understanding. I could use homework, journals, exams, quiz, or even fun projects to have
students present to the class.
Principle 9: Professional Commitment and Responsibility
Going to workshops to how to teach, training in technology, continuing with education classes is
only a few ways to improve in the art of teaching.
Principle 10: Partnerships
I shall keep communications open with students, parents, and other resources to have students
advance.
