1. Primary Curriculum Overview
Our PK and KG1 curriculum is built around the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, from
England, while the KG2 - G5 curriculum is organised around the Literacy and Numeracy programmes for
England and Wales and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), which places particular emphasis on
international mindedness and is therefore very relevant for our students, who come from diverse
backgrounds and cultures.
The Curriculum reflects the rich culture of the United Arab Emirates and specifically of Dubai, while the
study of science, humanities, art, design and ICT is structured according to the requirements of the IPC.
Learning in English and Math in the Primary School takes place in daily "stand alone" lessons. Skills and
knowledge developed in these lessons are then used in the IPC unites in practical way to solve problems,
while consolidating knowledge and understanding of language and number
in Arabic, our third core subject, native Arabic speakers are taught in the medium of Arabic in a variety
of Arabic, Humanities and Islamic Education lessons, for up to a quarter of their instruction time.
Students from KG1 to G5 learning Arabic as a second language attend daily lessons in Arabic taught by
specialists, while also developing their knowledge of local culture and language in their homeroom
lessons with their first language Arabic speaking peers.
we offer French throughout the primary school at advanced and emerging levels. Francophone and
advanced learners of French have the opportunity to a programme to maintain and extend their mother
tongue skills from PK onwards, while learning French as a second language commences in KG2.
