    CSR Backed Community RO Systems

 Environment Planning Group Limited
                        Ahmedabad
We at Environment Planning Group Limited (EPGL) pioneered a model on Community RO Plants for affordable purified drinking water for masses
in 1999 and have since been putting up the plants across entire western India to reduce incidence of water borne diseases such as Diarrhea, Teeth
Decay, Pneumonia and Kidney Stone etc. We have, so far, impacted the lives of more than 1.25 lakh villagers by providing them not only health
benefits but also more local employment opportunities. Besides, our entrepreneurial initiatives have been working at ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra
Bank, Mudra Institute of Communication, ISRO, BSNL, et.al. for 5-9years.

Our CSR supported business model on community drinking water follows:

Our initiatives have received financial support from CSRs of Hindustan Zinc Ltd, Glaxo Smithkline, Moser Baer, etc. working in
Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi and Mumbai slums. We are now in rapid expansion mode with an active direct involvement of our partners Eureka Forbes
Ltd (EFL), whose role is to provide RO plants and their maintenance services including consumables. EFL-EPGL provide complete on-ground support in
problem identification and carrying it through to its logical solution with complete entrepreneurial responsibility.

We design, supply, install, operate and maintain a social initiative called Community RO purified safe drinking water on affordable terms in CSR
command villages of our client corporate projects. We approach respective village panchayats to obtain their demand and consent to provide space
and raw-water for our RO plants installation.

We seek a one time CAPEX sponsorship of Rs.3.50 lac from CSRs for an RO plant with UV facility suited to meet drinking water needs of 500-700
families, storage tanks, initial liaison with the panchayat, and an awareness campaign in the village. Our OPEX including power bills, operator's
salaries, plant supply and plant O&M are earned by a nominal selling price of water @25paise per liter (Rs.5per 20liter). We run the initiative as an
entrepreneurial entity on ground.

Community RO Systems: Mitigating the Challenge of Safe Drinking Water For Masses
THE CHALLENGE

INDIA

 70% habitations in the country
(around 1.96lac) lack access to safe
  drinking water

 80% of common diseases result from
  contaminated drinking water

 73 million working days are lost in
India due to water borne diseases
  every year

 Resultant economic burden on the
  nation estimated @Rs.3000crore p.a.
OUR SOLUTION

JUSTIFICATIONS FOR CSR SUPPORT

Benefits accrued with minimal recurring support: Initiative is operated and maintained by
EPGL as an entrepreneurial activity fetching it sustainable returns that motivates the company
to run the show without any recurring overheads to be shared by CSR.
High Ripple Effect: One time funding support of <Rs.100 per beneficiary assures perpetual
protection against water born diseases.
Effective method of relations building: Community gets safe drinking water at a fraction of its
open market price, due to CAPEX support by CSR, Infrastructure by panchayat and doing away
packaging & transportation expenses. CSR support highlighted in all project communications.
Communication Center for the Community: Since cluster dwellers visit the plant daily to fetch
drinking water, RO Plant becomes a centralized communication point for the community.
Promoting Companies: EPGL is the pioneer of this unique model while EFL are global leaders
of RO technology. Profiles of both the promoters have been abundantly highlighted on google.
Testimonials: Our CSR initiatives have been backed by Hindustan Zinc Limited, Moser Baer,
Glaxo Smith Kline, Welspun Industries, etc.

Outcome is reliable, dependable, time tested and authentic.
