Average Power Factor

Average Power Factor
Power factor is a measure of how effectively
electrical power is being used. A high power
factor indicates efficient use of the electrical
distribution system while a low power factor
indicates poor use of the system.

Peak Demand

Copyright 2013 Envantage Ltd
Peak demand shows Authorised
Peak Demand (ASC) from the
electricity distribution company.
The graph shows Actual Peak
Demand of the site against
Authorised Peak Demand.
If you exceed your ASC you may
be prone to power cuts, blown
fuses and general electrical
failure.

The Maximum Demand Chart is
showing usage data in Kw.
This chart is showing what is
being used on site.

identifying gaps in readings or
for spike monitoring.

Energy Consumption Chart
The Energy Consumption chart
shows kWh consumption over a
specified time. It separates
different energy types by colour
and also by day/night time hours
which is set in ENMAT’s tariff
settings. It is similar to the
Consumption Chart, but clusters
the energy types and day/night
splits side by side rather than
stacked on top of one another.

Cost per M2

Copyright 2013 Envantage Ltd
Cost per M2
Cost per M2 provides a useful
costing analysis based on the date
range specified and a site’s tariff
against the surface area of the
entire site, or sub metered area.
The calculations used are the cost
divided by M2.

kWh per M2
kWh per M2 is based on the date
range specified against a
company, site or sub meted area
against the surface area of the
entire site, or sub metered area. It
provides Energy Managers
information on the kWh output of
a specified surface area.

Power Factor Gauge
The Power Factor Gauge provides a useful
outlook on how effectively electrical power is
being used on site.

The value on the PF gauge is the average
power factor for the period date range
specified, scaled up by 100. It provides Energy
Managers with an overview of actual power
factor against a red, amber and green
guidance.
0.95 and above = Green
0.85-0.95 = Amber
0.85 and below = Red

Production per kWh
Production per kWh graph
shows Energy Managers
the energy usage against
unit of production.
The unit of production
method is useful when the
property's value is more
closely related to the
number of units it
produces than the number
of years it is in use.
This graph is useful to
understand the optimum
throughput and the
minimum energy used to
achieve this.

Site Usage Summary
The site usage summary
provides a useful kWh and cost
benchmark against a previous
time. It outlines YTD against
last year, depending on the
date ranges you specify and
then calculates the variance
differential based on red,
amber and green targets,
which are typically:
10% + = Red
0-9.9% = Amber
0% and under = Green

Carbon Emissions Factors
ENMAT uses the DECC Carbon

more accurate reading of a site’s
carbon emissions.

Energy Target Setting
ENMAT’s Energy Target Charts
allows the user to view the
following:
• Current Average
Consumption for period
selected
• vs past consumption (e.g.
last year) for period
selected
• vs the target that has been
set e.g. 10+ = red, 0-9% =
Amber, 05 or under =
Green

Summary Pie Charts
Summary Pie charts
provide an overview of
the following:
• Breakdown of
day/night
consumption
• Week/weekend
consumption
• Breakdown of
consumption by site/

• Elec, Gas and Co2
Emissions breakdown
over day/night

Site Usage

The Site Usage Summary provides Energy Managers with a “Bird’s Eye View” of current
energy consumption against a previous time (benchmark) it can be used to compare
consumption on sites or sub metered areas.

Period Summary

Copyright 2013 Envantage Ltd
Period Summary
The period summary provides a
useful outlook on electricity and
gas usage comparing static costs
against variable consumption
costs. It summarises day and night
energy usage differentials against
typical static costs such as standing
charges.

Bill Forecasting
ENMAT Calculates a customer’s Energy Bill by taking the kWh recorded and
calculating this against the following costs that are applied by the energy
supplier:
• Day Rate e.g. £15 per kWh
• Night Rate e.g. £17 per kWh
• Standing Charge - £50 P/M Also known as fixed charge, this typically covers the cost of
reading and maintaining energy supply meters, sending bills etc.

•
•
•
•

PF Threshold (Guidance) e.g. 11 kWh/KVARH
ASC (Available Supply Capacity) 300 KVA/Month
AC Charge e.g. £400 per kVA
AC Charge Type Fixed Monthly

Degree Days

Copyright 2013 Envantage Ltd

ENMAT uses HDD and has
taken an average of 15.5.
You then subtract the 2.7
degree day or whatever the
values are for each region
of each day which will give
you the recommended
heating value that you
need to heat to get the
building to 15.5 which is
the standard building
temperature for the UK.

The x axis is representative
of the total degrees needed
to heat the building, so it
could be that I needed to
produce 450 degrees in 3
months to heat my
building, for example
