1. REPRESENTING SEXUALITY
STARTER
To analyse shots, sound, editing & m-e-s in scenes.
To identify stereotyping of age groups in society.
• What are the difference types of
sexualities?
• How might you expect them to be
stereotypically represented in the media?

2. Analyse in pairs…
• You are going to watch a scene from
Fingersmith, taken from a past OCR paper.
• Watch the clip and take notes on how
sexuality is being represented in the scene.
• Work in pairs and discuss your ideas with one
another.

4. Find the evidence…
• Watch the clip again and make a note of the
use of shot, sounds, editing & m-e-s by
circling type of shot and sounds used, and
explain how they are used in the
representation of sexuality.
