2. If you can conceive and believe you can achieve. This may sound cliche but you'll never know unless you try! If you can imagine and visualize, really visualize what a weight loss transformation would look like for you then you just set yourself apart from 99% of all other dieters.
3. Too many weight loss transformation zealots get bogged down in the mechanics of losing weight. For example, when/what to eat, how to eat, when and how to exercise, etc. Study after study shows that visualization and imagery can play an important part for any goal achievement.
4. This article will give you a solid get started suggestion so you can use imagery/visualization throughout your weight loss transformation to your benefit. Successful visualization encompasses all the senses. Seeing something in your mind's eye is great but if you can hear, smell or taste your imagery it's much more powerful.
5. Try this experiment. See a lemon in your mind's eye. Got it? Good but are you really experiencing that lemon, probably not?
6. Now imagine you're slicing into the lemon with a knife, feel the juice as it leaks out of the slice down onto your fingers holding the lemon. Smell that fresh lemon fragrance as it wafts up into your nose. Now use both of your hands and pry the lemon open, feel the juice on your hands, maybe a bit of spray on your cheek and now the lemon fragrance is even stronger.
7. Stay focused on your imagery, now bite into that lemon, taste the tangy tartness, smell the lemon fragrance and feel the juices in your mouth. When done with a fair amount of focus most people at this point notice their mouth is physically watering from the vivid imagery. You can use this same skill set to speed and enhance your weight loss transformation.
8. You really don't need any special tools. All you need to be successful with this is your brain, practice and some belief. The first thing we need to do is get you to imagine a slimmer you.
9. If you've ever been slim then dig out some old photos and you can use those. Hold one of these photos in your hands, close your eyes, and burn that image into your brain. Move your fingers (eyes still closed) over the photo as if using Braille imagining every contour and curve of the trim body in the picture.
10. If you don't have any old photos of a slimmer you then you'll need to make one. Comb through some magazines until you find some physiques that could represent you after your weight loss transformation. For this first phase don't go for some bodybuilder physique but instead, for some 'regular Joe' type of body.
11. Imagery works wonders but belief is an integral part necessary for success. Most people's belief systems will allow them to see themselves at a more normal trimmer size but a body type at the extreme either ultra thin or heavily muscled really stretches most people's belief systems. Once you've found some great pictures, cut them out.
12. Next, cut out your face from some of your photos and glue them to the bodies you cut out of the magazines. You now have a great visualization tool. At least three times a day (more is better) select one of the pictures you created, take five minutes and visualize your new you.
13. Imagine your weight loss transformation as if it has already happened. In this article we talked about one very powerful method to help you visualize the new you, you really want to be. Your weight loss transformation could truly be just one picture away.
