1. Gridjam is an experimental project, a collaboration of music, visual art, science and
technology, and foremost, a world-class work of art and performance that stretches the ideas of what
performance is and can be in a truly global society. Gridjam assembles a visual artist, a composer,
musicians, scientists and technologists to produce a real-time, globally distributed performance in virtual
space that employs the high performance communications network that is rapidly bringing the globe to a
point and virtual venue. Gridjam will also demonstrate the power of world-class art–in a virtual world--reach
audiences across the expanse of space and time from multiple venues.
