 • The habit of repairing things got lost. • Short life expectancy of new products • Almost planned obsolescence • Cheaper to buy a new one than to get it fixed. • Counter-consumer-movement rising • Doesn't oppose consumerism but throwaway-ism. • Mitigate planned obsolescence • To repair is also to empower people to fix their own possessions • Connected to ‘Makers movement’ and ‘Pro-sumers’
