2. Introduction
Former president at The Classical Academy in
Colorado Springs, David Bohn used his leadership
skills to develop multiple areas, including strategic
planning and teacher professional development.
Presently Dr. David Bohn is leading an effort to
improve the lives of persons with disabilities through
a proposed community in a spectacular setting in
Colorado.
3. Background
As the baby boomer generation ages into its senior
years, parents with special needs children confront
challenging issues. Because current medical
technology provides longer life spans, children with
special needs may outlive their parents and require
additional care. Baby boomer parents worry about
assisted living facilities and the quality of care their
children will receive.
4. About the Community
To meet the needs of children with special needs as
their parent age, this community will offer balanced
and comprehensive living solutions. Based on the
foundational concept of a “love to nurture” integrated
living and working environment, Thrive Communities
will open its doors to persons with or without
disabilities with a commitment to finding a place for
those seeking support.
5. Conclusion
Residents will live in an environment that provides
special education to help residents develop
intellectually according to the latest research. The
community will engage residents on multiple levels,
including culturally, socially, and professionally.
Consisting of two organizational structures this
community will function interdependently. A strong
business plan is now in place. This unique
community will seek businesses that will hire
individuals with special needs, sponsor an
educational event for children with autism, and begin
developing its site.
