  • 2. PABLO RUIZ PICASSO WAS BORN IN MALAGA IN 1881.
  • 3. HE HAD TWO SISTERS CALLED LOLA AND CONCHAAND ACCORDING TO HIS MUMMY HIS FIRST WORDSWERE “PIZ, PIZ”, A SHORTENING OF LAPIZ .
  • 4. HIS DAD CALLED JOSÉ WAS ALSO A PAINTERAND PABLO DRAW HIS FIRST WORKS IN HISDAD’S ATELIER.
  • 5. ONE NIGHT, HIS FATHER FOUND HIM PAINTING OVER HISUNFINISHED SKETCH OF A PIGEON. OBSERVING THEPRECISION OF HIS SON’S TECHNIQUE HE FELT THAT PABLOHAD SURPASSED HIM AND VOWED TO GIVE UP PAINTING.
  • 6. AT THE AGE OF FOURTEEN HE PAINTED A WONDERFULPICTURE OF HIS MUMMY. SHE WAS QUITE WORRIED BY THEFACT THAT PABLO WAS NOT A VERY GOOD STUDENT ATSCHOOL BUT SHE REALISED THAT HE WOULD BECOME AGREAT ARTIST ONE DAY.
  • 7. THE WHOLE FAMILY MOVED FIRSTLY TO LA CORUÑA AND THEN TOBARCELONA WHERE HIS DADDY TOOK A POSITION AT A SCHOOL OFFINE ARTS. THEN PABLO MOVED TO MADRID BUT QUIT ATTENDINGCLASSES SOON AS HE DIDN’T LIKE FORMAL INSTRUCTION.
  • 8. WHEN HE WAS NINETEEN YEARS OLD HE TRAVELLED TO PARIS,FRANCE. HIS DADDY BOUGHT HIM A RETURN TICKET ANDTHERE PICASSO SAW DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES AND WAYS OFPAINTING.
  • 9. THESE WORKS BELONG TO THE “BLUEPERIOD” WHERE HE MAINLY PAINTED USINGBLUE TO EXPRESS HIS PROFOUND SADNESS.
  • 10. THE “ROSE PERIOD” WAS A HAPPIER TIME FORPABLO. HIS MOOD HAD CHANGED AND SO DID HISPAINTINGS. HE NO LONGER USED BLUE BUTBRIGHTER COLOURS .
  • 11. HE CO-FOUNDED THE CUBISTMOVEMENT.
  • 12. PABLO WAS ALSO A CERAMICIST, A SCULPTORAND THE FIRST ONE CREATING THE COLLAGE.
  • 13. ONE OF HIS MOST WELL-KNOWN PAINTINGS IS “GUERNICA”. WHILE LIVING INFRANCE, PABLO FOUND OUT ON THE NEWSPAPERS THAT A VILLAGE IN THENORTH OF SPAIN HAD BEEN BOMBED. IT HAS BECOME A PERPETUAL REMINDEROF THE TRAGEDIES OF WAR.
  • 14. PABLO PICASSO DIED AT THE AGE OF NINETYONE IN MOUGINS, FRANCE.
  • 15. WE CAN FIND HIS WORKS IN MUSEUMS ALLAROUND THE WORLD.
  • 16. EVERY CHILD IS AN ARTIST. THE PROBLEM ISHOW TO REMAIN AN ARTIST ONCE WE GROWUP.
