1. Mr. Roy Spence November 15, 2009
President
GSD&M
828 W. Sixth St.
Austin, TX 78703
Dear Mr. Spence,
As an experienced mass communication practitioner who is currently pursuing a degree
in Mass Communications (Public Relations) with a minor in business at Texas State
University, I am writing to request information regarding possible internship
opportunities with GSD&M. I am interested in a position that enables me to combine my
skills in mass communication, including advertisement and PR, with my ambitious
passion for creativity.
Being born and raised in the progressive atmosphere of Austin, I feel my skills fostered
from observing the advancement of the market as well as my abilities acquired through
my university would contribute immensely to the already sterling reputation of Idea City.
My qualifications would best be suited for a position of productive creativity; as my
attached resume shows, I am proficient with practices from throughout the mass
communication department as well as graphic design programs, which diversifies my
capabilities from the technical and management aspect to the creative and idea-producing
side. However, my particular preference is for the creative position; I flourish best when
striving for inventiveness and I feel that the Idea City team’s ambitious atmosphere
shares this drive. The coalescence of my passion and that of Idea City would benefit us
both, producing advertisements that inventively serve their purpose for the client.
Having said all this, I understand that your consideration is based on what I can
contribute to your company and I hope the skills and experience I have sited in my
resume suggests how I might be of service to GSD&M.
I welcome and look forward to the opportunity to discuss with you any other information
pertinent to my qualifications and potential internship. Please let me know what is
available for someone with my education, experience, and drive. I can be reached at
(512) 567-2781. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Corey R Powers
