Never overload your class load in any single semester. If you take on too much, it can lead to
a poor performance in even your easier classes. Select a couple that you know you will have
difficulty with and fill out your schedule with a few easier choices.

When you are getting ready to go to college you should make a list of things that you need to
take with you. Preparing everything you need before going to college so you do not have to
ask your parents for help all the time. This is really true if home is far away.

Try getting involved in school activities. There are plenty of organizations to join and ways
that you can get involved on campus. Get involved! You are sure to meet new faces, combat
feelings of being homesick and add impressive items to your resume. One caveat, though, is
not to overextend yourself. Your grades are your top priority.

Get used to your schedule and know where to find your classrooms before the first class. Try
and figure out how long it'll take for you to get to each class, and use that to plan accordingly.
You can also find libraries or cafes on your route to study or eat lunch at if you have time.

Make good use of your campus library. College libraries have the resources necessary to
succeed in all of the classes offered on campus. Get familiar with the library staff and they
can help you immensely. Check out the bulletin board to see if there are textbooks for sale
that you need.

You should always try to purchase used textbooks. Textbooks can be expensive. When you
factor in the cost of classes, the necessity of saving money becomes paramount. There are
many great sources for acquiring used books on the Internet, in bookstores and through
other students on campus. Used textbooks can often be bought at a considerable discount.

Figure out all you can about the career you wish to pursue before you pick out your college.
This can help you determine if a certain college has the necessary courses to get your
degree. Talk with the admissions director to ensure the courses you need are available.

Always maintain a healthy diet. Gaining the "freshman 15" isn't a myth! Be aware of what is
going in your mouth. Try and stay away from fast foods and junk foods. While it may seem
like a cheap and quick option, you won't be getting the nutrients that your body requires.

Be sure to register for classes as early as possible. If you wait to long, you may not get into
the classes you want. Register for the classes that you are interested in as early as you
possibly can.

Now, you can feel a little more confident when facing the tough decisions associated with
college. You are constantly faced with important decisions throughout your life, but the ones
you face in college have some of the best rewards or worst consequences. Use the advice
contained in this article to get you ready to start working on graduating!
