7. What I learnt...
I think the key programmes that I learnt to use are
blogger.com and Photoshop as most of the others I
have used before.
I have learnt many things on Photoshop, such as
how to use layers, rasterizing, the polygonal lasso,
how to add a drop shadow and many other things
that I think will come into use in later life.
On blogger I have learnt to add videos and photos,
change the template, add a post, add a comment,
view my stats and much more.
For example to the right you can see a section of my
blog, I have changed the template so that all my
posts are in order of labels which makes it easy to
find things, this is one thing I have learnt to do on
blogger.
8. Technology... (macro)
Over the course of the this project I learnt many things about technology as
a whole, such as not to always rely on it.
I couldn’t have completed my project without the use of technology, it was a
vital part of the completion of this project, from my blog to a computer.
Although there are some pieces of technology I could have completed the
project with out. Such as a phone that I took a video on for research, I could
have used something else such as hand writing or a webcam. I also could
have used a different programme than Photoshop to create my magazine
in, such as GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). There are many
other replacement programmes I could have used as well such as Safari or
Firefox instead of internet explorer, and many other substitute
programmes.
There are also pieces of technology I couldn’t have done without such as,
the computer and the internet.
9. Negatives and positives of using technology...
Positives
The positives of using technology is that everything
is so quick and accessible, so you can have a word
document and an internet page open together for
research that will take 15 minutes, where as to
research using books and hand writing would take a
considerably longer time.
There are also things such as the blog where anyone
can look, comment and give feedback, meaning it is
easier to share work and gain responses.
Also Blackboard brings an all new positive to using
technology for work as it means the teachers can
share information such as slide shows from the
lessons all the time, and it provides a quick way of
communicating with teachers whilst not there.
10. Negatives and positives of using technology...
Negatives
Although there are negatives such as if
anything were to go wrong with a piece of
equipment you could risk loosing all your
work, e.g. A memory stick goes corrupt and
all saved work wipes.
Doing research over the internet may give
you unreliable knowledge from sources
such as Wikipedia, you can’t trust it, where
as if you carried out the research first hand
then you can rely on it more.
