  2. Get a rapport going – ask people to introduce themselves – for the teacher’s benefit – what their work role is. Don’t be afraid to post unsolicited comments.

  4. Read slide! Looks good doesn’t it? You might argue that this would be enough (well not as good as real face to face classes) Question: What do you think of it so far? (I can take it) Question: Could it have any advantages over face-to-face classes? (eg. Clickers, full response from class) It has its limitations – can be easily done badly – requires specific effort to make it interactive and to make the lecturer relax. However, it easy to make it better.
  5. Ask attendees what they know about poor PPT practice?
  6. Polls: Costs, Quality Access – use it several times. Poll 2 What do the authorities want? What do the public want? What do lecturers want? What is your personal priority? Where do you think is the greatest potential for change/impact? I believe “Access” – It is more of a green field computers have not proved to be as smart as we would have predicted but we underestimated the communications potential. (The death of distance) Online Distance will be very important.
  7. Question: Comparing 2 forms of adult education: How are evening classes different from distance learning? (For good reasons and bad)
