  • 2. BOSCO YOUTH <ul><li>A CHALLENGE AND AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE YOUTH </li></ul><ul><li>For any responsible young person, willing to be part of transformation and change. (Personal, Social, etc.) </li></ul><ul><li>Age group of (11 to 16 years:Juniors;16+ to 28 years seniors) </li></ul><ul><li>A group of will consists of 20-30 members </li></ul><ul><li>A group is to be animated and guided by a trained BOSCO YOUTH Animator </li></ul>

BOSCO YOUTH <ul><li>Characteristics of BOSCO YOUTH Groups </li></ul><ul><li>DB is the inspiration - Salesian perspective of the Groups (Animated by the sprit of Don Bosco) </li></ul><ul><li>Open to all (Religion and gender) </li></ul><ul><li>It is graded [Development of the self, Inter-personal , Transformation of Society, The Divine] </li></ul><ul><li>SYS – Salesian Youth Spirituality – is the foundation of these groups. </li></ul><ul><li>Animated by a Salesian/ Lay or Religious Collaborator who is trained in the BOSCO YOUTH Approach. </li></ul>
  • 4. BOSCO YOUTH <ul><li>Objectives </li></ul><ul><li>1. To offer the total development of the youth along the “whole-person-paradigm”. </li></ul><ul><li>2. To develop the social responsibility in the youth, especially towards the transformation of the society – “Another World is Possible!” </li></ul><ul><li>3. Their role in ushering in the Kingdom of God – Values of the “Good News”. </li></ul><ul><li>4. To play their prophetic role in the society – to stand up for the values of Justice, Peace, Human Rights, Child Rights, etc. </li></ul>
  • 5. BOSCO YOUTH <ul><li>Any one of these objectives or more can be the focus of attention of the groups. </li></ul>
  • 6. BOSCO YOUTH <ul><li>Operational Strategy to introduce and promote BOSCO YOUTH </li></ul><ul><li>A small Team of Salesians and Lay will meet and prepare the training materials for the Animators. </li></ul><ul><li>Training programmes for Salesians/Lay Collaborators (the Coordinator for Groups and Movement in the Provinces and two more members from each province) at the National level. </li></ul><ul><li>Each Province will conduct a Training Program for the potential Animators of BOSCO YOUTH GROUPS in our settings. These will be conducted by those trained at the National Training Program. The Province may invite the National Resource Team Members if they feel the need. </li></ul><ul><li>These trained animators will start one or two groups ( BOSCO YOUTH ) in each setting from where they have come. </li></ul><ul><li>There will be a training Program for the youth leaders of BOSCO YOUTH by the middle of the year. </li></ul><ul><li>Every year there will be an going Training Program for the Animators of BOSCO YOUTH. </li></ul><ul><li>There will be annual Training Program for the new /potential animators. </li></ul><ul><li>There will be training program for the Youth Leaders BOSCO YOUTH. </li></ul><ul><li>After one year we will start such groups in settings outside Salesian Circles, but animators will be trained by us. </li></ul>

BOSCO YOUTH <ul><li>VISION 2015 – BICENTENARY OF DON BOSCO’S BIRTH </li></ul><ul><li>We see a National YOUTH DAY – Gathering of BOSCO youth from all over India for five days – may be about 10,000 youth. </li></ul><ul><li>Each unit is about 20. If you have 100 units per province, it is 100X10X20 = 20,000. </li></ul><ul><li>If we start 10 units in each Province in 2009-10, it becomes 10X10X20 = 2000 </li></ul><ul><li>By 2010-11 add 20 more units in each province, i.e. 20X20X10= 4000 </li></ul><ul><li>By 2011-12 add 20 more units in each province, i.e. 20X20X10 =4000 </li></ul><ul><li>By 2012-13 add 20 more units in each province , i.e. 20X20X10=4000 </li></ul><ul><li>By 2013-14 add 20 more units in each Province i.e. 20X20X12 = 4800 </li></ul><ul><li>By 2014-15 add 20 more units in each province i.e. 20X20X12 = 4800 </li></ul><ul><li>So total by 2015 = 23,600 youth. </li></ul>
