16. Moses 1
And it came to pass that Moses looked upon Satan
and said: Who art thou? For behold, I am a son of God, in the
similitude of his Only Begotten; and where is thy glory, that I
should worship thee? For behold, I could not look upon God,
except his glory should come upon me, and I were
transfigured before him. But I can look upon thee in the
natural man…else where is thy glory, for it is darkness unto
me? And I can judge between thee and God;
Get thee hence, Satan; deceive me not; And again
Moses said: I will not cease to call upon God…for his glory has
been upon me, wherefore I can judge between him and thee.
Depart hence, Satan.
And now, when Moses had said these words, Satan
cried with a loud voice, and ranted upon the earth, and
commanded, saying: I am the Only Begotten, worship me.
And it came to pass that Moses began to fear
exceedingly; and as he began to fear, he saw the bitterness of
hell. Nevertheless, calling upon God, he received strength, and

To Choose
2 Nephi 2:27-29
Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are
given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose
liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to
choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the
devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.
And now, my sons, I would that ye should look to the great
Mediator, and hearken unto his great commandments; and be faithful
unto his words, and choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy
Spirit;
And not choose eternal death, according to the will of the flesh
and the evil which is therein, which giveth the spirit of the devil power to
captivate, to bring you down to hell, that he may reign over you in his own
kingdom.

30. This Week’s Invitation
Envision what your life would be like if it
were more Christ-Centered. What do you
need to choose to do in order to achieve
that vision?
Take the list you made in class and
separate the worries into two lists, those
you have control over, and those you do
not have control over. What is in your
power to influence? How can you influence
those worries in a Christ-centered way?
