  • 1. The Sixth TrumpetRevelation 9:13-21
  • 2. • (13) Then the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, (14) one saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." (15) And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they would kill a third of mankind.
  • 3. • Jude 1:6 And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day,
  • 4. • Jude 1:6 And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day,• Galatians 4:4 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
  • 5. • (16) The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them.
  • 6. • (16) The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them.• Revelation 16:12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east.
  • 7. • 2 Kings 6:17 Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." And the LORD opened the servants eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
  • 8. • (17) And this is how I saw in the vision the horses and those who sat on them: the riders had breastplates the color of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone; and the heads of the horses are like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths proceed fire and smoke and brimstone. (18) A third of mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which proceeded out of their mouths.
  • 9. • (19) For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents and have heads, and with them they do harm.
  • 10. • (19) For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents and have heads, and with them they do harm.• “The weapons of this army are fire, smoke, and brimstone (vs. 17) which are weapons of hell and may further indicate that the army is made up of the inhabitants of hell—demons.” Charles Ryrie
  • 11. • (19) For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents and have heads, and with them they do harm.• Revelation 19:20b these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone.
  • 12. • Revelation 9:2a He opened the bottomless pit, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace;
  • 13. • (20) The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, so as not to worship demons, and the idols of gold and of silver and of brass and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk; (21) and they did not repent of their murders nor of their sorceries nor of their immorality nor of their thefts.
  • 14. • 1 Corinthians 10:20 but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers in demons.
  • 15. • 1 Corinthians 10:20 No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers in demons.• 1 Timothy 4:1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,
  • 16. • 2 Corinthians 12:7 Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me--to keep me from exalting myself!
  • 17. • Mark 5:6-9 Seeing Jesus from a distance, he ran up and bowed down before Him; (7) and shouting with a loud voice, he *said, "What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!" (8) For He had been saying to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!" (9) And He was asking him, "What is your name?" And he *said to Him, "My name is Legion; for we are many."
  • 18. • Titus 3:3-7 For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. (4) But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, (5) He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, (6) whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, (7) so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
