1. School Purchase of Laptops 2021
Trinity Grammar School procures, on behalf of parents, a laptop computer for every
student in years 5 to 12, so we can provide a consistent computing environment.
2. School purchase of laptop computers
• Each year, the school procures computers on behalf of parents to
distribute to boys;
• Families lease the computers over three years;
• The costs include computer and all accessories, finance, insurance,
software licences and a comprehensive service package;
• The costs are recouped via a levy added to fees each February;
• After three payments, families may keep the computer.
3. School purchase of laptop computers
What are the benefits of ‘school purchase’?
• Students and teachers have the same user experience (facilitating
the use of specialist software with in-class tuition);
• Software licencing is simple, hassle-free for parents and
significantly cheaper;
• Students’ computers are always available for learning, due to a
highly effective maintenance process: computers are repaired
quickly on-site, with loan computers available;
• The school can effectively manage and monitor computer use.
4. Computer Levy (three year lease)
• For boys starting Year 5 in 2021 the levy is $580 per year.
• For boys starting Year 7 & 10 in 2021 the levy is $810 per year;
• (Boys in Year 10 have the option to lease a more powerful device
at an increased cost of $930 p.a. for those taking art electives);
• The levy is applied annually to the February fee invoice;
• (For boys entering other year groups, we endeavour to provide
students with the same computer as other boys in that year group,
and we charge parents the same levy.)
• At the end of the three year lease, families may keep the computer.
