  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement The trailer starts off with a black screen, and has the feint sound of ‘thumping’ and this noise increases as the duration of this shot increases.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement It has the effect of a ‘fuzz’ which creates suspense, and that it’s a homemade clip.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement The scene then starts a long shot, and of the person running towards the camera. In terms of sound it starts off with a loud and quick tone, and has the noise of the being hitting the camera.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement It then cuts to a still, angled shot of the being on the floor, and this adds fear, as you stare into the darkness of the doorway. There is a feint soundtrack in the background.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement The camera gradually zooms in, and the text of ‘In 2009 you demanded it’ adds to the effect of it being a sequal.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement It cuts to an audience reaction which adds to the home made effect again. You hear a sound which is similar to as if you would change the channel.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement The use of ‘fuzz’ again adds to the home-made use of camera, and you get the sound of scratchy and ‘fuzziness’ as well.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement Another fade to black.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement The close up of the face, and another still shot. Once again you hear a loud and quick noise, which resembles a feint but distinct scream.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement This gives a reaction to the close up. You hear the sound of the audiences reactions, by terms of a scream.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement Another fade to black.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement A still establishing shot of the household.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement Another establishing shot of the outside of the house.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement A still establishing shot of the kitchen, with the pots and pans moving in the background. The sound of pots lightly being clanged together, overshadows this shot.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement An establishing shot of the doorway once again, and you hear the sound of over exaggerated footsteps and creaking.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement The dialogue of “nothing can prepare you” adds to the horror of the trailer, and entices you into wanting to see whether you can prepare yourself, all the typewriter style of font, adds again to the home made and amateur effect.

  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement An establishing shot of the hallway once again, although this time the dog and baby, are alarmed, and you hear the sound of the dogs growls and bark throughout the duration of this shot.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement The text all follows on from one another, and this specific text of “for what’s next” leads on nicely to the next couple of clips.

  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement Another establishing shot, similar to one which we have already seen, but with the human instead. Also has a similar sound once again, and it vaguely resembles thunder, and has a similar effect, of grabbing your attention.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement The ‘2’ quickly flashes up on screen, and has the electrical noise to accompany it.
  • Shot No. Type of Timing shot Dialogue – Sound – Camera Movement The title of the film “paranormal activity 2” appears, and the two is more imposed, to suggest it is a sequel to the first film.
