2. ASTEROIDS
There is large gap in between the
orbit of Mars & Jupiter. This gap is
occupied by large no. of small
object that revolve around the sun.
This are called ASTEROIDS.
3. COMET
Comets are small Solar System bodies.
They revolve around the sun in highly elliptical orbit.
A comet appears generally as a bright head with a long
tail.
Short-period comets have orbits lasting less than two
hundred years.
Long-period comets have orbits lasting thousands of
years.
HALLEY’S COMET, Which appear after naerly every 76
year.
It was seen in 1986.
4. Superstition about the comet
Some people think that comets are
messenger of disasters, such as wars,
epidemics & floods.
But these are all myths & superstitions.
5. METEOR
The trail of glowing particles that it
sheds in its wake is called a meteor,
and it is generally known as
"shooting star" or "falling star".
A Meteor is usally small object.
And occasionally enters the earth’s
atmosphere.
6. METEORS SHOWER
When the earth crosses the tail of comet,swarms of
meteors are seen.
These are known as METEORS SHOWER.
Meteors shower occur at regular interval each year.
7. METEORITES
Some meteors are large and so they can reach the
earth before they evaporate completely.
The body that reaches the earth is called
METEORITES.
8. ARTIFICIAL SATELITE ARE MAN-MADE
THEY ARE LAUNCHED FROM THE EARTH.
THEY REVOLVE AROUND EARTH.
MOON IS A NATURAL SATELITE.
9. Some others indian satelite are in sat, irs, kalpana-1,
edusat etc.
Artifical satelite have many practical application .
There use for for e casting weather , transmitting
television & radio signals.
They are used for telecommunication and remote sensing.
