FAMOUS SCIENTISTS ESL PROJECT EnglishDepartment Maths & PhysicsDepartment Art Department
FamousScientists You are going to learn about famous scientists over the History: physicists, chemists, biologists, mathematicians… You are going to create a glog about one of them.  Work in groups of 3-5 members and make sure each member has a definite task. Due date for your glogs: 23rd April.
FamousScientists Obligatory media in your glog: Images: pictures related to your scientist or his inventions, discoveries… Text: You must write one or several paragraphs  including important information about your scientist.  Audio: You must tell the rest why you chose that scientist, what made him/her important, any anecdotes or information you find useful. Video: Upload a short video in English about or related to your scientist. Link: You must include a link to a website in English about your scientist.
FamousScientists General Guidelines  You can try the following sites Science Superstars  , Famous Scientists  to search information on your scientist or surf the web on your own. Do not copy from the Internet site. Use your own words instead. Make simple sentences and don’t use words you don’t understand. Do not include too much boring information nobody will read. Be concise and precise The person’s full name, place of birth and year of birth and death Cultural background (country, contemporary social figures…) The field of science he/she is famous for  Scientific discoveries, contributions or experiments Later life, family life, death
FamousScientists Evaluation Yourglogwillbeevaluatedonthefollowingaspects: Visual aspect: Presentation, originality… Use of alltheobligatory media: text, video, audio… Content: informationincluded in yourglog, abilitytodigestallthe data found in yoursearch. Use of English: vocabulary and structuresappropriatetoyourlevel.  Accuracy: correctness in yourwritten and spokentexts.
