10. 10. RATIONALE
 11. 11. Rationale:

While climate change has already become a global agenda, it has been observed that civil society organizations operating in Mindanao are not entirely adept to these issues , much more with operating frameworks on how to integrate the concern in the day to day operations of doing development work thru various community based projects.

Be ready. Funding and donor institutions would soon require rationalization of the related issues in the design, development and implementation in community projects proposed for grant funding.

A trend is unfolding that initiatives for climate change mitigation and adaptation would potentially broaden the financial resource base of CSOs as concepts of carbon trading and offsetting could possibly be a possible future source of funding for non-profit organizations, if the dynamics of such are fully understood.

 12. 12. OBJECTIVES

What we plan to achieve

A heightened awareness on Climate Change issues among participants.

This 3 day conference will jumpstart a vigorous mass movement in Mindanao against climate change.

Compile and disseminate media rich info materials and make it accessible at the tip of the finger.

CD

Website

Handouts/kits

Discuss a framework for climate change sensitive and responsive community development projects.

Pave the way for a global network that will advance the Mindanao climate agenda thru a social networking site.

Identify and discuss project concept that intertwines climate agenda and social entrepreneurship.

Craft the Mindanao Climate Change Agenda and roadmap

Organize a CSO initiated but partnership driven Mindanao institutional body to advance the Mindanao
