2. Brief of Project
Our intention is to create a theatrical trailer for a
potential horror film to appeal to the conventional
target audience of this genre.
3. Influences
Nightmare on Elm Street: this is because of the
concept that the killer comes after people in their
dreams, however we want to alter some of the ideas
in this film.
Insidious: this film is based upon a demonic figure
that is brought from another world by the mind of a
child.
4. Possible Ideas for Title
Figment – something someone will believe exists,
but only exists within their own imagination.
Tribulation – a cause of great trouble or suffering.
Misconception – a view that is wrong because it
based on a misunderstanding.
5. Slogan Ideas
The human mind is the scariest of them all
Woe is he, he is me
6. Narrative
Jamie (victim), is haunted by the figure of her
grandfather’s ex army acquaintance who he left to
die.
Now she is hallucinating that this man is coming
back for her to seek revenge against her grandfathers
actions.
These dreams and hallucinations are causing her to
think he is actually back, but the power of her mind
eventually brings him in a solid form of a killer.
7. Ideas for Shots
Fast, flashing shots to build up a climax within the
trailer.
Flashbacks, with use of black and grey filters for
dramatic effects.
