Well, I was a web designer before turning myself into a content writer and wasn’t very familiar
with WordPress blog. So, I used to develop PHP and MySQL powered blog/site.

Don’t know how to build a WordPress blog? Well, don’t worry as I’m going to show you … how!

With custom designs, I could craft out really sophisticated sites, but most of the time, I was
developing small websites for my clients.

One of my uncle recommended me to use WordPress, a free open-source blogging platofrm, to
develop small-business websites and create equally eye-catching site … within minutes.

With that revelation, I just visited WordPress.org, and then, rest is history. Till now, I have
developed more than two dozens of WordPress sites for my clients.

It’s absolutely easy, and even a laymen can start to use them.

Well, enough of the story. I bet you’re wanted to know how to build sites using WordPress.

In this article, I am revealing few simple steps to create a site like you’re on. And I didn’t even
spend a dime for this blog. They were absolutely free.

Here are the steps of building a WordPress powered blog/site.

1) Register For a Domain Name

To setup your own blog, you can either use one of those free blogging platform, like blogger or
Tumblr, but they don’t offer you a complete ownership of the domain, or they don’t look
professional and personal at all, do they?

                                                                                                  1/4
That’s why, you need to at least register for a domain name at one of the several domain
registration companies – Godaddy or NameCheap.

I usually register a domain name from Namecheap as you’ll get domains in less than $4 per
year.

2) Buy a Web Hosting

After register your own domain name, you want to buy web space from a best web hosting
companies – Hostgator or Blue Host ( I use Hostgator ) – to host your website on it.

If you don’t know how to register for a web hosting company, I’ve written an article about it.
Check how to register for a web hosing service, here!

I highly recommend you use Hostgator as they not only offer the best web hosting services –
unlimited web space, bandwidth, and domains – but they also offer hundreds of free themes,
site builders, and Adwords and Google Credits.

Remember to use coupon to cut off 25% off all hosting packages, including Baby, Hatching, and
Business plans.

3) Download and Install WordPress to Create WordPress blog

Now after you’ve registered for the domains and web hosting, visit WordPress.org, not
WordPress.com, and download and install the free blogging platform.

If you already have web hosting services running, like Hostgator, or Blue Host, then, you can
easily install WordPress directly on them through the control panel.

Simply check the radio button, hit the Install button, and you’re done!!!

4) Download and Install Themes

Next, you want to browse through best free WordPress themes to spice up your website design.

5) Install Essential WordPress Plugins

After you’ve installed the WP theme, you want to go one step further to extend your site to

                                                                                              2/4
make it more search engine friendly by using any of the following free WordPress plugins.

WordPress-based site.

these content on search engines.

7) Create page/blogs

Lastly, create static pages such as profile page, services, contact us, privacy policy pages to
make you appear as professional.

Then, don’t forget to update your blog with fresh content, relevant to the niche you’re after.
