I was very fortunate enough to have been invited to the launching of the newest facilities of the Center for Culinary Arts, one of the most prestigious culinary schools in the Philippines. Here's a slideshow to give you a tour around the newest facilities.

    2. 2. THE VENUEThe entrance of theCenter for Culinary Artslocated along KatipunanAvenue in Quezon City.

    4. 4. THE COFFEE ACADEMYFirst stop was the CoffeeAcademy, a coffee trainingfacility created inpartnership with the WilliamAngliss Institute in Australia.
    5. 5. MY MORNINGFIXMr. Raoul Pineda, ProgramManager of the Coffee AcademyPhilippines, graciously pulls me afine shot of espresso. As he wasdoing that, he let me in thedetails about the CoffeeAcademy and their differentcoffee training programs.
    6. 6. LATTE ARTBaristas from the Coffee Academy demonstrated two latte artdesigns. This is just one of the skills that they teach in the differentcoffee training programs that they offer. Click here to view thevideo of their demonstration.
    7. 7. MORE THAN A SCHOOLThe interior of the Coffee Academy was made to look like a coffeeshop. Aside from taking classes, you can also book the place forfunctions, meetings, and even team building activities.
    8. 8. THE CULINARY RESEARCH STUDIONext stop is the Culinary Research Studio where students get totest their culinary creativity through projects like moleculargastronomy, artisan food design and food styling.
    9. 9. THE CULINARY RESEARCH STUDIOCCA students demonstrate their culinary talents by creatingdifferent chocolate treats sprinkled and flavored with different kindsof salt (yes, salt!) instead of sugar.
    10. 10. SUPER TASTER CHALLENGEAt the Culinary Research Studio, attendees of the launch werechallenged to test their taste buds at their Super Taster Challenge. Idecided to give this a try and won the challenge.
    11. 11. THE CCA GRAND KITCHENUpstairs was the CCA Grand Kitchen. This 200-square meter facilityis equipped with the latest kitchen equipment, everything thestudents need to prepare them for their culinary career.
    12. 12. MASTER SUSHICHEF IN ACTIONWhile exploring the GrandKitchen, I chanced upon Sushi ChefAndy Matsuda who was here inManila to do a series of seminarsfor the CCA students. He showedhis sushi making skills as hewhipped up a simple maki dish inless than a minute. Don’t believeme? Watch the video here and seefor yourself!
