Binary Thinktank is not a development agency. We bridge the gap between the first idea for a custom application and the
day development starts. We specialize in understanding, planning and articulating the idea in a way that is understandable
for all stakeholders and vendors involved. The direct results are projects that finish on time, on budget and that meet quality
expectations.
We discuss the idea with you in detail and offer recommendations and new insights. We research the market, technical
aspects and user experience for your idea. We write everything down in an extensive set of documentation called the
Solution Architecture. This is your roadmap to ROI, your plan of action, your risk mitigation strategy and your detailed
vendor brief all in one.

3. Who is Binary Thinktank?
Thomas and Jon are the managing partners and owners, with Jon focused on business
development and events, and Thomas focused on writing, Solution Architecture and
managing vendors.
Aaron provides consultancy on government grants and can support with digital marketing
and business development. Ben is our custom electronics and robotics consultant.
Richard and Oli are both UX and design consultants. Oli is based in Vietnam and also
manages some of the design and front-end vendors that we work with.
Rebecca is our project and account manager. Karyn is our assistant solution architect
and copywriter.
Besides this team, we work with with many different external specialists and vendors.

● 1 Hour Free Consultancy
Free consultation for new clients and new projects. We’ll meet you at our office to go over your project and help you identify immediate
concerns, the inherent risks and realistic budget expectations.
● Strategy Session
This session focuses on gaining a deep understanding of the project, the workflows and the target users.With follow-up documentation
summarizing the session and offering recommendations, risk analysis, new ideas and a ballpark timeline and cost.
● Solution Architecture
We create detailed project plans (technical and business aspects) for digital businesses and custom web and mobile applications. Can
include business and idea evaluation, risk analysis, partner and revenue opportunities, marketing and UX research, infrastructure design,
database schematics, technology recommendations, long-term roadmap, application blueprints and a detailed timeline and cost estimate.
● Management Retainer
We can manage your project and all involved vendors with a dedicated project manager as your single contact point. Includes evaluation of
vendor deliverables and quality assurance and ongoing Solution Architect support for any change requests.

5. Who does Binary Thinktank offer the most value?
● MNCs and government
We help create accurate briefings and Solution Architecture to get more effective estimates on their projects from vendors. We help evaluate
vendors and their estimates, and can support in managing the project and the client’s and their vendors’ expectations throughout. Projects
that we manage have a significantly higher chance of meeting deadlines and their final total cost is almost always within the estimated
budget.
● Funded start-ups
We provide the service level of hiring a CTO but at a lower and more manageable cost. Our clients pay only for hours used through highly
flexible and cost-effective retainer contracts and can take advantage of our business network and over a decade of experience in start-up
management, business, design and custom application development.
● Ad/Creative agencies
We help expand their digital portfolio, grow their knowledge with digital and UX training, and provide consultancy to generate ideas, create
digital products and add value and expertise to their service offering for clients. We also co-host and organize training and education events
with some of our agency partners.

7. Why use Binary Thinktank instead of....
● ....going directly to a development shop?
The focus of development shops is on debriefing your requirements and getting their team started. They focus more on their own risk
exposure and less on yours. It’s unlikely they will challenge your ideas or look at requirements from a business and ROI perspective.
As most development shops compete on price, this is entirely understandable. The reason why so many developers like working with us
is because we take care of all of this for them and help them deliver better projects to happier clients.
● ....a big development agency with in-house Solution Architects?
While these agencies’ Solution Architects operate similar to how we do, we are entirely independent. Signing up for Solution Architecture
with them will also tie you to development services. With us, you only commit to one step at a time and we can work with our recommended
vendors, your own preferred vendors or your in-house team. Our specialized but small team also ensures competitive pricing when
compared to the larger agencies.
● ....your own project manager?
Project managers are great at gathering functional requirements and planning the internal project timeline - we are happy to work with them
in this area. But they rarely have the level of experience that we do in development and with managing vendors on a basis of equal skill.
Project managers are typically considered a client of a vendor where as we are managers of the vendor. We know how to communicate with
developers and we have a firm understanding of their code and the ability to quality assess it.
