2. Halloween Candy Bar Graph Instructions
• After a fun-filled night of Trick-or-Treating, kids always love to come
home and check out their loot! You can make this activity
mathematical by graphing the pieces of candy on a chart.
• Choose a constant value for each square going up (squares can be
worth one, two, five, ten…depending on the amount of candy your
child brought home).
• Once the candy is counted, kids can use crayons, markers or colored
pencils to color in the squares that represent how much candy they
brought home in each category.
• Compare the categories:
– Which candy seems to be the most popular? Least popular?
• Remember while Trick-or-Treating: Safety First! Only Trick-or-Treat
on well-lit streets and always use the buddy system. Happy
