The internet access gap creates an online health information gapAmong young adults (14–24 years of age) in households below the federal poverty line, 61 % used public library computers and Internet for educational purposes. Among seniors (65 and older) living in poverty, 54 % used public library computers for health or wellness needs. For many people, social networks are a place for idle chatter about what they made for dinner or sharing cute pictures of their pets. But for people living with chronic diseases or disabilities, they play a more vital role.
